We’re back in Maryhill on this episode as we look at the classic Taggart episode ‘Nest of Vipers’. In this case, the discovery of two skulls at a building site causes DCI Jim Taggart to re-open a missing person enquiry from four years earlier. As an university professor begins to reconstruct the faces of the murder victims, a batch of poisonous snakes and spiders are stolen from a Glasgow biotech company, and are then used in a bizarre killing spree. Is the killer trying to cover up his crimes, and can Taggart, Jardine and Reid crack the case before more people die? Starring Mark McManus, James Macpherson, Blythe Duff and a very young Dougray Scott

On this episode of The Culture Swally, we are discussing the third and final series of the darkly comic Scottish drama from Neil Forsyth, Guilt. Starring Mark Bonnar and Jamie Sives, series three picks up a year after the end of series two, which saw Max heading to Chicago to join Jake. Roy Lynch was last seen on his balcony with Teddy and is presumed to be dead, leaving his widow Maggie Lynch to take charge of the family business. Series three sees the return of a whole host of characters from the previous two series and early in episode one, events lead to the brothers finding themselves back in Leith, but trying to avoid Maggie Lynch. Series three of Guilt was released in April this year and is available on BBC iPlayer.
In the news we cover a whirlpool of evil at Loch Ness, discuss a sexy advert on at 10am, meet an Elton John tribute act, who is perhaps taking it too far and discuss Trainspotting and The Singing Kettle at The Fringe.

We’ve covered a few police shows on The Swally over the years, but nothing quite like this as we look at the pilot episode and the first series of BBC Scotland’s Scot Squad! The series is a fly on the wall documentary, following the fictional 'Scottish Police Force’, essentially the Real Life Police Scotland, a newly unified force that polices the whole of Scotland. Starring Jack Docherty, Jordan Young, Darren Connell and Sally Reid among others, the show ran for eight series, ending earlier this year.
In the news we hear about an outbreak on a cruise ship, contemplate applying for a new job at a garage after their advert appealed to us, meet a delivery driver, who just couldn’t wait to get home to pleasure himself and reminisce about the time International Rescue came to Dundee!

When the two start a romantic relationship things don’t go quite to plan as Joe gets involved with people from his past.
