We’ve covered a few Irvine Welsh adaptations on the Swally and on this episode we delve into the film adaptation of his 1994 book, The Acid House. Covering just three of the 22 short stories featured in the book; The Granton Star Cause, A Soft Touch and the story which the book takes it’s name from, The Acid House. Starring Ewen Bremner, Kevin McKidd, Michelle Gomez, Stephen McCole, Maurice Roeves and a whole host of other Scottish Swally Stalwarts, the film was directed by Paul McGuigan and was released in 1998 to somewhat lacklustre reviews.
In the news we hear about a advert that has been banned from Glasgow’s subways, meet a woman who has a very nosy neighbour, celebrate a contract extension at Raith Rovers and Nicky details his perfect pub. Oh and a quick round of the Purple Tin game!
We also have a chat with our fabulous new sponsor, Gary Kemp from Doric Skateboards! Gary and Nicky discuss the background of the brand and delve into the choice of items from a late night bakery!
